Cultural Festival - 2019

The cultural festival of the Velanai Regional Cultural Council and the Divisional Secretariat was held with the financial support of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Northern Province and the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry.  The event was held at St. Philipnerior Church, Allaipiddy on 17.09.2010 at 3.00 p.m Under the Presence of Mr. Ambalavanar Sothinathan (Divisional Secretary and Head of Cultural Council, Velanai).

Mr. I. Ilangovan (Secretary, Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs - Northern Province) was the Chief Guest at the event. Special Guest Mrs.Sujeewa Sivadas (Assistant Director, Department of Cultural Affairs - Northern Province) was also present as the Guest of Honor Rev. Fr.Manuvertpillai Devid (Parish, Allaippiddy, Mandaitivu) also Participated in this Programme.

The festival featured a variety of music, dance and folk events and certificates were given to the students who participated in the violin training program conducted by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Northern Province. Artists have been honored with the 2019 Artist Award and the 2019 Bachelor Award.
